Bomi Midwifery Body Appeals For Training
By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, January 13 (LINA) - The Secretary General of the Bomi County Rural Women and Midwifery Association, Ms. Janet Paye, has decried the exclusion of midwives from training opportunities and other benefits in the county.
She made the statement at the weekend when Action Aid Liberia (AAL) donated food and non-food items to the Association in Bomi County.
Presenting the items on behalf of AAL, Linda Bono said the entity decided to identify with the midwives who, she said, are vulnerable to the Ebola virus as their job calls for person-to-person contact.
She did not say the cost of the items which included rice, oil, beans, clothing and slippers.
Receiving the items, Ms. Paye said since the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the county, Action Aid Liberia was one of the first charity organizations to identify with the Bomi County midwives.
