MONROVIA, January 12 (LINA)-House Speaker J. Alexander Tyler has commended international partners, friends and the entire medical community for the timely manner in which they responded to the call of the Government of Liberia during the Ebola crisis that hit the country in 2014.
Tyler also extolled President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for the “immaculate leadership” she exhibited throughout the Ebola crisis which has resulted to the remarkable gains made so far in the fight against the deadly disease.
The Speaker’s commendation was contained in his statement Monday during the official opening of the 4th Session of the 53rd National Legislature in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building in Monrovia.
At the same time, Speaker Tyler has acknowledged the services Montserrado County District 13 Representative Saah Joseph rendered the nation and its people in tackling the Ebola Virus that claimed thousands of the lives of Liberians and other nationals.
Meanwhile, Tyler is cautioning Liberians and residents to continue observing the preventive measures outlined by the Ministry of Health and the Centers For Disease Control (ICDC) until Liberia is declared Ebola free.
Tyler also used the occasion to pay tribute to all those who lost their lives to Ebola and called for prayers for those still languishing in Ebola Treatment Centers throughout the country and in the sub-region.
