Klay District Sounds SOS for Ebola-Affected Children
By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, January 12 (LINA) - Klay District Commissioner Alfred Zinnah is appealing to government and its international partners to assist the district to cater to children affected by the Ebola virus.
Commissioner Zinnah said the virus has left over 35 children without parents, leaving them in need of care and support to survive.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Klay over the weekend, Commissioner Zinnah noted that as government has announced the re-opening of schools, there is also an urgent need to help these children go back to school.
He said all of the children are of school-going age and there is a need to adequately prepare them for school, including provision of food and non-food items, especially clothing, foot wear, books and uniforms.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Zinnah has thanked the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) for the distribution of food to Ebola victims in the district, including rice, oil and beans.
