By Comfort M. Johnson/LINA

MONROVIA, January 12 (LINA)- The Presiding Judge of the Criminal Court “D” at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia,  Yusuf D. Kaba, has sentenced a former finance officer of the National Drug Service (NDS), Wesley Jlue,  to five years imprisonment for  stealing US$ 179,183.06 from the NDS' account.

Handing down the final judgment over the week end, Judge Kaba said based upon the evidence adduced during the trial, the testimonies of witnesses as well as the defendant’s admittance in the presence of his lawyer during police investigation and the jurors’ unanimous guilty verdict, Jlue was guilty of the crime of theft of property and
