Bomi Official Calls For Youth Leadership Elections
By David Seedee, Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, Feb 4 (LINA) – Bomi County Assistant Superintendent for Development, Ernest Gray Davis, has asked the Youth Coordinator of Bomi County to conduct a county-wide election to put in place a county youth leadership.
He said the leaderships of other organizations were already instituted, including the community development chairmen, women leaders, town chiefs and other structures needed for running the affairs of the county.
Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency on Monday, Mr. Davis said due to the absence of a county youth leadership structure, it has become difficult for the county’s administration to adequately address the issues facing youths.
Assistant Superintendent Davis said the county authorities desire to improve the lot of young people and called on the Youth Coordinator, who is appointed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, to conduct elections for the county youth leadership.
He said as soon as a leadership is put into place, the county administration will begin to work with it, adding that the young people must begin to undertake some activities and responsibilities in the county.
