By Wellington G. Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUIELLIE, January 9 (LINA) - The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection Nimba Office has distributed Ebola prevention materials and food stuffs valued at L$100,000 to Ebola and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) survivors across the county.

At the end of the distribution in Sanniquellie on Wednesday, the ministry’s Nimba County Coordinator Yah Belleh Suah said the items were distributed to 45 Ebola and 11 SGBV survivors across Nimba County.

Belleh noted that the ministry’s local office liaised with the Nimba County Ebola Taskforce to ease the burden of the distribution.

Speaking earlier at the presentation of the items for distribution, Gender Ministry SGBV Director, Deddeh Kwekwe said the project was sponsored by the UN Development Program with funding from the Swedish International Development Agency in partnership with the Liberian Government.

The items distributed were 12 mattresses, 14 buckets, 30 bags of rice, 20 cartons of detergents, several empty barrels, chlorine, sanitizers and food items.
