Bomi CHO Appeals For Generator For Gov’t Hospital
TUBMANBURG, January 8 (LINA) - Bomi County Health Officer (CHO) is appealing to government to provide the Liberia Government Hospital in Tubmanburg with a generator to help its staff in carrying out their work efficiently, especially at night.
Dr. Gabriel Gorbee Logan said the generators that are currently being used by the hospital are experiencing regular mechanical problems because they have outlived their usefulness, adding: “They have been in use for more than five years now.”
He disclosed in an interview with the Liberia News Agency on Tuesday in Tubmanburg that for the past two days staffs at the hospital have been working in darkness, a situation he said is not safe for both the workers and patients.
According to him, nurses and other healthcare workers at the hospital are using portable lights to attend to patients.
Logan said the hospital’s administration has for the past two years been repairing the four generators on a weekly basis and cannot go any further due to financial constraints.
“We will be glad if the government provides a 65 KVA generator for the smooth running of the hospital,” Dr. Logan appealed.
