Bong County Development Superintendent Anthony Sheriff
Voloblai Citizens Want Road Rehabilitated
By Ballah Kollie, LINA Bong County Correspondent
VOLOBLAI, January 6 (LINA) - Citizens of Voloblai Town in Suakoko District, Bong County are appealing to officials of the county to have their nine-kilometer road rehabilitated.
Elder Sam Kollie, Sr., noted that rehabilitating the road will bring economic relief to residents as many farmers are finding it difficult to get their produce to the market.
He was speaking at the weekend following an assessment of the road by Bong County Development Superintendent Anthony Sheriff and team of inspectors.
Elder Kollie observed that since a partial rehabilitation work was done through citizens’ initiative in 2010 the road has remained untouched, making it nearly impossible for vehicles to ply the route.
Responding to the request, Development Superintendent Sheriff noted the plea and promised to convey their request to the county’s Legislative Caucus for consideration.
Speaking also on the matter, Bong County Resident Engineer, Emulus Toliver, said rehabilitating the road will require several earth moving road equipment, including a caterpillar, compactor and trucks.
