Support For Children’s Education Highlighted

By Ballah Kollie, LINA Bong County Correspondent

VOLOBLAI, January 6 (LINA) - Bong County Development Superintendent Anthony Sheriff  has challenged citizens of Voloblai Town, Suakoko District to support the education of their children.

He said supporting the children’s education will prepare them to meet future challenges, improve their living condition and bring development to their town and county.

Addressing citizens at the Voloblai Town Hall over the weekend, Sheriff told the citizens that sending the children to school could in the future alleviate the deplorable condition under which they live, noting, “If you educate your children, your living conditions will improve tomorrow.”

According to Augustine M. Yartoe, a prominent citizen of Voloblai, parents of the town have the practice of registering their children at the start of the academic year but soon withdraw them for farming purposes.

“The town has almost 200 school-age children, but very few end the school year,” Yartoe said.
