By Chris Nyenapee, LINA Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU CITY, January 5 (LINA) - A Memorandum of Understanding has been entered into between the Grand Gedeh County administration and the resident UNMIL Chinese Engineering Contingent to upgrade some roads in the county.

The Grand Gedeh County Project Planner, Washington Saa Yonly, who made the disclosure in Zwedru at the weekend, said the project will commence this month.

Already, according to Yonly, clearing has started in Dougee Town, Bh’hai Administrative District for overnight storage of equipment as well as a camp for workers during operation on the Toe Town / Putu Pennoken road linking the county with River Gee County.

Exhibiting a  sketch of the road network to be improved under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works, Mr. Yonly stressed that all is set for road re-conditioning this dry season.

He said besides the Toe Town-Putu road, the Chinese team has agreed to improve the Boundary to Glio Tempo road up to the  Cavalla River border with La Cote d’Ivoire in Konobo Statutory District, as well as the Zwedru-New Pohan road through Janzon in Cavalla Administrative District, among others.

According to Yonly, the sketch was submitted to Public Works Ministry officials during a recent road assessment tour in the county.
