Gbarpolu Hospital Appeals For Ambulance, Drugs

By Emmanuel Mondaye, Gbarpolu County Correspondent

BOPOLU, Feb 3 (LINA) -The Medical Director of the Jallah Lone Hospital in Bopolu City, Gbarpolu County, Trokon Washington, has said there is an urgent need to address the shortage of drugs and lack of an ambulance at the hospital.

He said due to the lack surgical medicine, family members of patients needing surgery are usually requested to purchase medicines from registered pharmacies to treat the sick.

Washington said despite these problems, the hospital is providing effective healthcare delivery services to the estimated 92,929 residents of the five health districts in the county.

He appealed to government and philanthropic organizations to come to the rescue of the hospital, which is the only referral hospital in the county.

The Medical Director said two female patients who needed urgent surgery died because there was no ambulance to convey them to the hospital for immediate medical intervention.
