ETU Is A Path To Glory, Says Health Officer
By Wilfred Gortor/LINA

MONROVIA, December 30 (LINA)-The County Health Officer (CHO) of Grand Cape Mount County, Dr. Lorraine C. Cooper, has expressed optimism that
the newly constructed Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) in Sinje is a path to glory and will ease the spread of the virus among residents of the county.

Dr. Cooper termed the ETU as a milestone and a huge step forward in the county’s quest to finally defeat the deadly Ebola virus.

She made the statement in Sinje, Grand Cape Mount County on Monday at the opening ceremony of the newly built ETU in the county.

“Today, we are at the spotlight of the Ebola crisis because the county is still presenting cases of infected persons; it is time for us to increase our efforts so that we can finally stop the spread of the virus,” Cooper noted.

According to Dr. Cooper, efforts to prevent the county from experiencing more cases remain the most challenging task and responsibility of every Cape Mount citizen because Ebola has caused economic constraints that have affected everybody.

She called on citizens of the county to take advantage of the ETU by reporting cases of Ebola as soon as possible, adding “If people do not agree to use the ETU the dream to defeat the virus will not be realized.”

Cooper also commended the government and its partners for the initiative to construct the Sinje ETU.
