By David Seedee, Bomi County Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, Feb 3 (LINA) - A United States-based organization, the St. Joseph Food Patronage of New York on Monday donated medical and non-medical items to several institutions in Bomi County.

The Chief Executive of the organization, Dr. Michael Abu Jones, said the gesture is the organization’s way of identifying with people of the county.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Dr. Jones named beneficiaries as the Government Hospital in Tubmanburg, Bomi County Community College and the Guthrie Yancy Elementary School in Klay, Bomi County.

The consignment donated included laptops, cartons of books and medical supplies. He said the items cost over US$70,000.

Dr. Jones said the donation was made through the citizens of Klay District in the United States of America.

Speaking at the presentation of the items, Tubmanburg City Mayor Rebecca Benson lauded the organization for the gesture and noted that the gifts would bring relief to the people of the county.

Madam Benson called on other citizens of the county in the Americas and elsewhere to follow the example of the St. Joseph Patronage in New York.
