Eight Defeated Candidates Of Grand Gedeh Shun Thanksgiving Service
By Chris Nyenapee,  LINA Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, December 30 (LINA) - Eight of the ten defeated candidates in the just-ended Mid-Term Senatorial Election in Grand Gedeh County on Tuesday shunned a “Thanksgiving and Unity Service” organized by the Zwedru Christian Council of Churches at the Elim Chapel in Zwedru.

Making the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agency, the Pastor of the Elim Chapel, Rev. Richard Gbarduoh, said the service was intended to unite the candidates following the announcement of the official results by the National Elections Commission declaring A.
Marshal Dennis of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) winner of the poll.

Rev. Gbarduoh in his sermon called on all of the senatorial aspirants to see themselves in the eyes of God as winners, and thanked them for the peaceful manner in which they conducted themselves during the election.

Dr. George E. S. Boley and William Y. Glay, the only two defeated candidates who attended the program, pledged their support to the development of the county.

Meanwhile, Grand Gedeh County senator elect, A. Marshall Dennis, has stressed the need for all citizens of the county, including those who participated in the election, to join effort with him in developing the county, adding “One tree cannot make a forest”.
