VOINJAMA, December 17 (LINA)-The Voinjama District Youth for Development and Advocacy (VODYODA) is calling on citizens of Voinjama district in Lofa County to put their county’s interest above their selfish interests as they go to the polls to exercise their franchise on December 20.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, December 16, VODYODA urged citizens to put the national interest first in casting their ballots.
In the release, the youth also urged citizens of the district to desist from violence, remain law-abiding, accept the election result and observe regulations outlined by the Ministry of Health during the electioneering process.
The release observed that Lofa County which once served as the bread basket of Liberia, was hard hit by the deadly Ebola virus, resulting in great setbacks in food production in the county.
According to the release, VODYODA believes that when Lofa County is totally Ebola free, it will serve as a conduit for national
development and economic recovery in the post-Ebola era.
Meanwhile, VODYODA is calling on citizens of the county to remain peaceful and respect all candidates, regardless of political, tribal
or religious affiliation during this electioneering period to ensure unity in the county.
