MONROVIA, Feb 01(LINA) - The Assistant Minister for Student Personnel Services at the Ministry of Education has urged Liberian students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.
Minister T. Wilson Gaye observed that if Liberian students study hard, their performance would be marked by excellence.
Minister Gaye made the statement at the weekend at the inauguration ceremony of the Student Council Government of the THT School System in Topoe Village, Somalia Drive, outside Monrovia.
He indicated that the Education Ministry has put in place measures to improve Liberia’s educational system through the training of professional teachers across the country.
Gaye noted that most teachers in classrooms now have the basic requirement to become better teachers, because government has revamped all teacher training institutes in the country.
Minister Gaye disclosed that a code of conduct has been developed for teachers in Liberia, outlining how teachers should conduct themselves on the job and among students.
He pointed out that these measures will ensure that Liberia’s system of education produces quality and competent graduates who would strengthen the country’s workforce.
