Aureus Mining Trains Over 20 In Ebola Prevention
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, December 17 (LINA)- The management of Aureus Mining Company in Grand Cape Mount County has trained over 20 of its health workers and community dwellers to buttress the efforts of local authorities in containing the Ebola virus.

Making the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Robertsport Tuesday, the company’s Public Relations Officer, Sheik Sonii, said the participants were trained about the danger and prevention of the disease.

Sonii also told LINA that beneficiaries of the training have begun a “door-to-door” awareness campaign on the danger and prevention of the virus in communities across the county.

He said besides the training, management has provided more than 500 hand washing buckets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPES), gloves and other health materials.

He is meanwhile urging citizens not to relent in the fight against the Ebola virus which has constrained many companies operating in the area to shut down, a situation which, he noted, has the propensity to render more than 2000 Liberians jobless.

Aureus Mining Company is engaged in the mining of gold in Grand Cape Mount County.
