SCI Wants Ebola Fight At All Levels
By Richard D Baysah,  LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, December 15 (LINA) - Save the Children International Field Manager Charles Sevee says the fight against the Ebola virus must be at every level of society through a more comprehensive public awareness campaign.

Sevee made the observation in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Kakata over the weekend at the close of a one-day Ebola
awareness and prevention training workshop for about 60 public transport drivers from Kakata in Margibi County.

According to Sevee, the training workshop is intended to provide the drivers the necessary education on how to prevent the spread of the
Ebola virus in public transport vehicles.

He called on commercial drivers across the country to see themselves as key players in the Ebola fight because they deal with several people daily, a situation which places them at high risk.

Sevee pledged his institution’s continuous cooperation in combining efforts with the Liberian Government in tackling the Ebola Virus until it is totally eradicated.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, the vice president of the Federation of Road Transport Unions of Liberia (FRTUL) Margibi County branch, Fedesco Hasany, commended Save the Children International for their timely intervention.

Hasany urged drivers to take the training seriously and adhere to all the preventive measures to ensure that the virus is eradicated.
