Cape Mount Supt. Decries Traditional Practices In Ebola Fight
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, December 12 (LINA) - Cape Mount Superintendent Mohammed A. Paasewe, has called on religious and traditional leaders to refrain from denial, secret burial and traditional bathing of dead bodies to ensure that Ebola is kicked out of their county and Liberia.

Paasewe blamed the continued spread of the Ebola virus in the county on failure by religious, traditional and community leaders to fully adhere to preventive measures outlined by health authorities to contain the spread of the disease.

He urged them to get fully involved in the fight against the spread of the virus in order to save the county from this deadly disease  that has claimed the lives of several of their kinsmen and continues to claim more lives.

Superintendent Paasewe made the statement Thursday at the official opening of a two-day local traditional leaders and county stakeholders’ Town Hall meeting held in Robertsport.

The Town Hall meeting was organized and financed by Global Communities Partners for Good, an international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) operating in the county.
