Johnson Bobby Liway, LINA Grand Bassa County Correspondent

BUCHANAN, December 11 (LINA) - The head of the  Grand Bassa County Health Team, Madam Joyce Garblah, has disclosed that the county recorded 54
Ebola suspected and confirmed cases in the month of November 2014.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency Wednesday, Garblah said of this number, 35 are suspected, 16 confirmed and 3 deaths.

According to Garblah, the cases were reported from Kpaywein town, District # 2B which is currently considered an Ebola hotspot in Grand Bassa County.

She attributed the outbreak in Kpaywein on November 6 to a man who bathed a dead Ebola patient, thereby contracting the disease and later spreading it to residents of the town and its surroundings.

Meanwhile, Madam Garblah has disclosed that Medicins Sans Frontier (MSF-B) has built two mini emergency Ebola treatment units in Kpaywein
that hosts about 10 and five Ebola patients at a time, as a result of the new outbreak.

Garblah also disclosed that Concern Liberia, a non-governmental organization, has trained 12 social mobilizers to disseminate Ebola awareness messages throughout the district.

Kpaywein has 52 structures with approximately 918 inhabitants.
