Over Two Thousand Healthcare Workers Trained Nationwide By MOH
By Wilfred Gortor/LINA

MONROVIA, December 8 (LINA)- A total of 2,079 healthcare workers have been trained nationwide by the Ministry of Health since the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in the country, the head of case management at the ministry of health, Dr. Moses Massaquoi, has disclosed.

Of this number, 1,941 are Liberian health professionals, while 138 are expatriates who, according to Massaquoi, were imbued with the technical abilities to work in Ebola treatment centers and other health facilities.

Addressing the Ministry of Information’s daily Ebola press briefing in the conference room of the ministry Monday, Massaquoi said training will scale down in Montserrado County in 2015 in preference to rural Liberia.

He noted that this will boost the country’s capacity to respond to future challenges, facilitate the establishment of a vibrant post-Ebola medical system in Liberia and provide assistance to other countries faced with similar health crisis.
