GBARNGA, December 8 (LINA) –William T.F. Senni who is on trial for armed robbery at the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarnga, Bong County, admitted committing the crime when he took the witness stand at the weekend.

On August 29, 2014, an angry crowd and four motorcyclists effected citizens’ arrest of Senni and later turned him over to police for allegedly robbing and threatening to kill William T. Flomo, a cyclist he had hired to transport him fromthe Phebe Junction to Gbonogalasue, Suacoco District.

In his testimony, Senni admitted using a knife to order Flomo to step down from his bike or he would stab him. He said after issuing the threat, Flomo jumped down from the bike and fled for his life.

He noted that he was later arrested by four motorcyclists and an angry crowd while trying to return to Monrovia.

“Through the intervention of an elderly man and after beating me, I was later handed over to officers of the Liberia National Police, Senni told the court.

Meanwhile, Resident Judge A. Blamo Dixon has granted a request by Bong County Attorney Cornelius Flomo Wennah for Grand Jurors to stay on for additional 21 days during the November Term of Court.

In a letter dated December 4, 2014, Wennah said he asked for the extension because there were unfinished matters to bring before the court.
