GBARNGA, Feb 1 (LINA) – The Project Monitor of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Bong County, Daniel T. Tentay, is calling for the timely disbursement of County Development Funds (CDF) to ensure the fast-tracking of county development fund projects.
Mr. Tentay said bureaucracy in the release of county development funds is responsible for the slow pace in the implementation of projects in the county.
He told the Liberia News Agency Friday that of the 21 projects approved by authorities of Bong County, only the rehabilitation of the commissioner residence in Gbartala, Yenawen District and the commissioner residence in Belefanah, Zota District have been completed 100 percent, while six other projects are 99 percent complete.
According to him, the remaining 13 are being slowly executed due to difficulties encountered in withdrawing money from the account of the County’s Social Development Fund.
“To monitor projects in the rainy season is very difficult and to avoid that, the government particularly the Minister of Internal Affairs, needs to intervene in order to ensure that these projects are completed on time,” noted Tentay.
