Bong CHO Credits Partners For Drop In Ebola Infection
By Ballah Kollie, LINA Bong County Correspondent
GBARNGA, December 4 (LINA) – Bong County Health Officer, Dr. Samson K. Arzoaquoi, has observed that the gains made by the county in the Ebola fight is the result of technical and material support from both local and international partners.
Dr. Arzoaquoi said the support from personnel of the World Health Organization, International Medical Corps, US Army, Action Aid Liberia, UNICEF, and Save the Children, among others, are factors responsible for gains made against Ebola.
He noted that unlike the past when specimens were taken to Monrovia for testing, results are now being released within three hours through the US Amy Laboratory set up at Cuttington University campus.
Dr. Arzoaquoi told the Liberia News Agency in Gbarnga recently that the donation of ambulances with spare parts by Global Communities, UNICEF and Save the Children were also cardinal to the level of reduction of new Ebola cases.
Arzoaquoi disclosed to LINA that of the 15 suspected cases reported from November 24 to 30, none was tested positive, but warned citizens against complacency, stressing, “It could overturn our achievement.”
