Agriculture picking up in Bomi County

TUBMANBURG, Jan 31 (LINA) - The Assistant Superintendent for Development in Bomi County, Ernest Davis, has disclosed that farming is gradually picking up in Bomi County.
He said farmers have realized the importance of agriculture as the bedrock of development in the county and the nation as a whole.
Superintendent Davis said there are various agriculture projects in the county that are being sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and other partners.
Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency on Thursday in Tubmanburg, Superintendent Davis said one of the projects was Seed Multiplication for Cassava Growers in Banana Farm, covering about 25 acres of land to enhance the Cassava Sector in the county.
The Assistant Superintendent also disclosed that the Consultant of the German Agro Action has returned to the county.
Superintendent Davis further disclosed that Bomi County is among counties where the Agriculture Ministry is sponsoring Agriculture Development Projects (ADP) thousands of dollars.
He said this program will encourage more farmers in the county to engage in agriculture.
