Supt. Zuagele Cautions Nimba Youths Against Rioting
By Wellington G. Patrick, Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, November 26 (LINA) – Nimba County Superintendent Fong Zuagele has cautioned youths against staging demonstrations or riots during the processes leading to the special senatorial election on December 16.

Zuagele warned that violators will be prosecuted, and called on aggrieved citizens to seek dialogue, negotiation, partnership or legal redress when aggrieved, and not resort to destruction of state and private properties.

He urged individuals and institutions to constructively engage the county administration whenever they feel disenchanted over an issue as there is always room for discussion.

He made the statement Tuesday in Sanniquellie after receiving a written request from the former media coordinator of the county Ebola task force, Armstrong Selekpoh, seeking permission to stage a "peaceful demonstration" on Tuesday, December 16.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency, Armstrong said his withdrawal from the task force on Monday, November 24, is intended to ensure that he remains independent in his advocacy for “the common good of  Nimba citizens”.

The county administration is yet to officially react to Armstrong's request, even though he has received widespread condemnation from residents of the county over the planned demonstration.
