By Korboi K. Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent

VOINJAMA, November 25 (LINA) - The Paramount Chief of Zorzor District in Lofa County has assured citizens of the full involvement of local chiefs in the fight against Ebola in the county.

Paramount Chief Henry Zayzay said chiefs will continue to take Ebola awareness to homes, communities, villages and towns to sensitize citizens about the danger Ebola poses to life and how to avoid the spread of the virus in the county.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Chief Zayzay gave the assurance Monday at programs marking the wider county awareness, “Pushing Ebola Back”, a community-based empowerment approach organized by the Lofa County NGOs Network (LOFANET) in collaboration with the NARDA, a Liberian NGO.

Zayzay, who spoke on behalf of the local chiefs, commended government and partners for doing so much in the fight against the Ebola virus, and assured that local leaders will continue to contribute their quota in the fight.

He commended LOFANET and NARDA for their contributions to the fight against Ebola in the county.

LOFANET has been providing skills training in Zorzor, Voinjama and Quardou Gboni Districts for the past six years and are currently engaged in providing community Ebola awareness in Salayea, Zorzor, Voinjama, Quadou Gboni and Kolahun districts in Lofa County.
