US$130K Guest House For Garwular District

By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County

ROBERTSPORT, Jan 30 (LINA) - The Commissioner of Garwular Statutory District in Grand Cape Mount County, Kaison Kiadii, says plans are finalized to construct a US$130,000 guest house in the district.

He said the project was necessary because since the creation of the district, it has not had a guest house to host the district’s guests.

Commissioner Kiadii made the disclosure Wednesday in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent.

He said portion of funding for the project will come from the County Development Fund, while the rest will be raised by the citizens through taxation and personal contributions.

He said already, each house has been taxed to pay L$50 towards the project to ensure its speedy implementation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kiadii has said that authorities are encouraging citizens of the district to get involved in agricultural programs that will make them self-sufficient in food production.

He said the total involvement of citizens of the district in agricultural projects would afford them the opportunity to produce food for the Liberian market.
