VOINJAMA, November 17 (LINA) -The National Elections Commission (NEC) has launched its Civic and Voters Education exercise in Voinjama City, Lofa County.

Making remarks during the launch Monday at the NEC Office in Voinjama, Election Magistrate for Lower Lofa County, Solomon G. Jaryeneh, said Civic and Voters Education is one of the key components in conducting a credible election.

Magistrate Jaryeneh said through Civic and Voters Education, the electorate is provided the requisite knowledge about their civic obligation to participate in the electoral process and make informed choices about those they want as their leaders.

Jaryeneh called on Lofians to adhere to safety measures outlined by health authorities to prevent further spread of the Ebola virus during the upcoming special senatorial election in the county.

Also making remarks, Lofa County Police Detachment Commander J. Tito Lolin assured NEC that the joint security in the county will ensure that the special senatorial election is held under a peaceful and secure environment.
