OXFAM To Build Ebola Holding Center In Karnplay

By Wellington G. Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, November 14 (LINA) -The City Mayor of Karnplay in Nimba County, Evelyn Gweh, has disclosed plans by OXFAM to construct an Ebola holding center in the city shortly.

OXFAM is a UK-based charity tackling emergencies in more than 90 countries worldwide, including the Ebola virus in West Africa.

Gweh told the Liberia News Agency in an interview in Sanniquellie Thursday that OXFAM will start the project as soon as it completes an on-going feasibility study.

The City Mayor said OXFAM is planning the new center after Nimba County authorities described a tarpaulin holding center the charity was erecting earlier as sub-standard to fight Ebola.

Based upon that, she said, the organization agreed to construct the new holding center.
