Dog Rescues Girl, 13, From Kidnappers In Bopolu
By Emmanuel Mondaye, LINA Gbarpolu County Correspondent

BOPOLU, November 13 (LINA) - A girl, 13, escaped from three alleged kidnappers in Bopolu, Gbarpolu County when her dog attacked the men who fled the scene.

The girl (name withheld), a resident of the Promised Land Community in Bopolu District, was returning from the market with her dog when the three men (one wearing a mask) reportedly kidnapped her.

The Liberia National Police Chief Superintendent of Gbarpolu County, Adolphus Cole, told the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Wednesday that the kidnappers had gagged the girl’s mouth and tied her to a tree.

Cole said it was at this juncture that the dog began barking and later mounted a vicious attack on the three men who abandoned the girl and fled.

“The girl could have been harmed had it not been for the timely intervention of her dog that attacked the men,” the police chief noted.

He said the victim told police she can identify two of her alleged kidnappers, but not the third who wore  mask.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
