Gov’t May Extend State of Emergency, Senator Gueh
By Winnie Dixon

MONROVIA, November 12 (LINA) – River Cess County Senator Dallas Gueh has said the State of Emergency is likely to be extended by one month as a result of ongoing debates on crucial national issues at the National Legislature.

Some of the issues, he said, are the Fiscal Year 2014/2015 National Budget, State of Emergency, Special Senatorial Election and a number of proposed Bills for debate and ratification, among others.

Gueh observed that extension of the Statement of Emergency will address the level of complacency Liberians are assuming in the waked of the decline of Ebola cases in the countrya

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency Tuesday, Gueh also noted that it is impossible to seat 15 new senators without a “defined budget for the government to properly function, in the coming fiscal year.”

Meanwhile, Information Minister Lewis Brown at the daily Ebola press briefing Tuesday said the Executive Branch would proceed with discussions with the National Legislature to cordially resolve the issue of the State of Emergency.
