By David P. Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, November 3 (LINA) - The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has trained 163 health workers to man the Bomi Ebola Treatment Unit, a health official has disclosed.

Bomi County Health Services Administrator Davidson Rogers said of this number, 43 are professional health workers who were trained in infection control while the rest are support staff.

Making the disclosure Sunday at the county’s Ebola Task Force meeting in Tubmanburg, Rogers said IOM has also donated 74 boots and 74 protective garments to the County Health Team (CHT) volunteers for use at the ETU.

He also revealed that the Bomi County ETU located in Tubmanburg is expected to begin operations on November 10, with about 50 beds.

Meanwhile, Rogers has disclosed that from June to October 2014, the CHT released 16 Ebola survivors and is expected to release another five on Friday, November 8.
