LCF To Train 1,500 Youth For Anti-Ebola Awareness Campaign

TUBMANBURG, Nov 2(LINA) -The Executive Director of Liberia Children Foundation (LCF), Mr. Magnus Marvoy, has disclosed that his organization will shortly embark on the training of 1,500 youths, mostly girls, to spread Ebola awareness messages in Bomi County.
Under the program code-named Girls Power, 200 girls will be trained from each community. He said the girls will be trained to disseminate Ebola prevention messages to their parents, friends and peers on a one-on-one basis in their towns and villages.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Tubmanburg on Friday,October 31, Marvoy said the training begins in the first week of November 2014 and will be conducted in seven communities in the four districts of Klay, Suehn Mecca, Dewein and Senjeh.
He said phase one of the project which is being funded by Plan Liberia, will be held from November 2014 to March 2015.
According to Marvoy, Plan Liberia has made available US$15,000 for the first phase of the project. He said the project could be renewed based on the donor’s assessment.
