‘Stop Discriminating Against Ebola Survivors’ -- Carter Center Official
By Decontee Wesseh, LINA/Intern

MONROVIA, October 27 (LINA) – The Acting Chairperson of the Psycho-social Committee of the Carter Center in Monrovia, Dr. Janice Cooper, has called on Liberians to stop stigmatizing against Ebola survivors.

Making the call at the regular Ebola press briefing at  the Ministry of  Information over the weekend, Dr. Cooper said “such act is against the law.”

“We don’t have to come close to hug them, but we can show them love in different ways by keeping around and showing them that we still care,” Cooper emphasized.

She said reports suggest that Ebola survivors discharged from treatment centers and sent home are discriminated against or stigmatized by family, friends and community members because of their status.
