By Wellington Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, October 24 (LINA) -The Ministry of Education Nimba County Office is conducting anti-Ebola training workshops for educators to prepare them to join the fight against the Ebola virus.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Sanniquellie on Friday, the County Education Officer (CEO), Wleh T. Sailah, said the workshops bring together District Education Officers (DEOs), principals and teachers from both private and public schools in the 12 educational districts.

It is intended to empower them to conduct awareness in their various districts upon completion of the workshops.

According to Sailah, the workshops started at the Martha Tubman Elementary School in Sanniquellie and later moved to Ganta with participants also dealing with the “issue of denial that caused the loss of many lives.”

The CEO disclosed that the program is being sponsored by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

Meanwhile,  Sailah has disclosed that the first batch  which underwent the training in Sanniquellie and Ganta has embarked on a “house-to-house” Ebola awareness campaign in their respective communities.
