Margibi Health Officer Appeals For Vehicles

By Richard D. Baysah, LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, October 23 (LINA) -The Acting County Health Officer of Margibi County is appealing for new vehicles to facilitate effective healthcare delivery in the county.

Dr. Adolphus Yeiah said the five vehicles provided by the Ministry of Health more than four years ago have broken down, making it difficult for the county health team to carry out regular supervision.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Wednesday in Kakata, Yeiah said the situation is so grave that the two ambulances in the county that transport Ebola patients are also used to convey non-Ebola patients for treatment.

“This is not proper as it could result to the transmission of Ebola infection to other patients,” he added.

Yeiah said with the gains made in recent times against the Ebola virus in Margibi County, he does not want the county to experience a resurgence of more cases.
