Lawsuit Awaits Man For Allegedly Spreading Ebola

BAHN, October 23 (LINA) -The Municipal Council of Bahn, Nimba County, has threatened lawsuit against a man who allegedly intentionally infected several persons with the Ebola virus in Bahn.

Mayor Angie Dopoe said the man identified as Bill Nuahn recently traveled from Monrovia to Bahn pretending to have completed the 21-day observation period after being suspected of the virus he contracted in Monrovia.

Mayor Dopoe told the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Wednesday that upon arrival in Bahn, Nuahn interacted with several family and community members before being tested positive later after showing symptoms of the virus.

Dopoe also disclosed that Nuahn presented a false document to convince his hosts that he had tested negative after being suspected of the virus in Monrovia.

According to the Mayor, Nuahn action has led to the quarantining of 59 persons he came in contact with in Bahn following his admittance at the Ganta Ebola Treatment Unit.

The Mayor pointed out that the City Council would take Nuah to court for presenting a bogus document to his hosts and infecting innocent citizens.

But Nuahn told the Liberia News Agency on October 22 via mobile phone that he did not know his status up to the laboratory test.

Bahn City had been considered an Ebola-free zone up to the second week of October when Nuahn entered the city, the Mayor said.
