Ebola Policy Secretariat Urges Validation Of Reduced Case Load
By Wilfred Gortor

MONROVIA, October 21(LINA) -The head of Secretariat of the Ebola Policy Advisory Committee has stressed the need for confirmation of reports of reduction in the number of Ebola cases being reported.

“We are seeing signs of improvement in our response to the deadly Ebola disease, but we would like to ensure that the message is not sent in a manner that people would revert to those practices that led to the spread of the virus,” Dr. Emmanuel Dolo, noted. Dolo, who is also Youth Advisor to the President, spoke at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press briefing held in the conference hall of the ministry on Tuesday.

According to him, Ebola is a behavior disease and as such people should continuously stick to the precautionary measures as the government is still working toward a period where it can justify reports of reduction in the country’s Ebola case load by proper validation.

In a presentation, Dolo displayed an operation plan, which according to him, when completed, will be used to measure the country’s success rate against the virus in 30 to 90 days.

He noted that given reports of reduction in the number of Ebola cases, it still cannot interrupt current efforts to build Ebola Treatment Units and other response activities as they are necessary to put the country in a better position in case of any eventuality.
