Radio Cape Mount Back On Air

By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, October 21(LINA) - Radio Cape Mount in Grand Cape Mount County is back on the air after a break in transmission due to technical problems.

The station’s News Director, Lamini A. Wise, told the Liberia News Agency that resumption of broadcast followed repairs on its 1200 mega watts transmitter

The Garwula District-based radio station was gutted by fire on October 6, 2014 as a result of an electrical fault, damaging the transmitter and forcing it off the air since.

However, Wise disclosed that the transmitter was repaired after Cape Mount County Senator Edward Dagoseh made a personal donation of US$1,000 on October 15, 2014.

The Liberian journalist said besides the money, Dagoseh has also provided 600 gallons of fuel oil to four community radio stations, Radio Cape Mount, Radio Piso, Radio Salem and Radio Manwonet.

He then lauded Senator Dagoseh for the gesture which, according to Wise, “has now enabled the station to join other stations to broadcast Ebola sensitization messages.”
