By Chris Nyenapee, Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, Jan 27 (LINA) – Ex-warlord and politician, Dr. George S. Boley, has indicated his intention to contest the 2014 Mid-Term Senatorial Election in his home county, Grand Gedeh.

He told a gathering of women, youths, elders and children at the residence of Elder Isaac Toe about his intention to seek their mandate for the senatorial seat of Grand Gedeh County.

At a brief ceremony, but impressive gathering at the Disco Hill Community in Zwedru recently, Dr.  Boley  said he will officially announce  his intention at  the appropriate  time, declaring that for now, he wanted to  get  acquainted  with  all communities, citizens and residents of county.

On  his  past achievements, Dr. Boley cited his  role  as  the first  education  planner in  the Tubman era,  assistant  minister  in the Tolbert administration, Education Minister and Minister of State for Presidential  Affairs in the Doe regime.

He was also founder and head of the Liberian Peace Council rebel group during the Liberian civil crisis.

He recalled that in all his endeavors, Grand Judeans benefited.

Residents of  Disco  Hill Community, including women,  youths, elders and local leaders, have meanwhile expressed appreciation to Dr. Boley and  promised  to  keenly  follow  his  activities for future support.

The National Elections Commission (NEC) recently warned politicians against engaging in campaign activities ahead of NEC’s declaration of the start of campaigning.
