Pres. Sirleaf Begins Nationwide Ebola Assessment Tour
By Hilary Vasco Wiagbe

MONROVIA, October 20 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at the head of a high-power government delegation on Monday left Monrovia for Lofa County on a two-day Ebola assessment mission.

While in Lofa, the Liberian leader and party will assess the level of work done so far in the fight against the Ebola virus in the county, according to Deputy Information Minister for Technical Services, Robert Kpadeh.

He told the Information Ministry’s regular Ebola update briefing that the President will hold discussions with community leaders on the essence of working collectively to contain the disease.

President Sirleaf will also meet with health workers in Lofa County to encourage them to continue to exhibit commitment in the discharge of their duties, emphasizing love for country.

It can be recalled that the first case of Ebola in Liberia was reported in March, 2014 from Lofa County.
