KAKATA, October 17 (LINA) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has approved a grant of US$37,000 for Margibi County to do contact tracing and social mobilization in the county.
The Superintendent of Margibi County, John Z. Buway, told the Liberia News Agency Friday that the amount will cover three months and will be implemented by the Kakata Branch of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA).
“Margibi County has a huge student population and the outbreak of the Ebola virus has stopped them from going to school, while most people are without job so there is a need to provide the means through which these people can have something to do,” he said.
Buway pointed that it was important to have the young people be a part of the process of engaging in community social mobilization and contact tracing which will enhance the work of the County’s Ebola Task Force and the Health Team better fight the Ebola pandemic in the county.
