MOE Screening Teachers In Grand Gedeh

By Chris Nyenapee, Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, Jan 27 (LINA) -The local Ministry of Education office in Grand Gedeh County has begun collecting and sorting the credentials of teachers for proper screening to determine appropriate assignment that would ensure quality education.

Grand Gedeh County Chief Education Officer, Ramson Darwolor, told the Liberia News Agency in Zwedru at the weekend that the exercise, which has commenced at the Putu Education District, will cover all schools and teachers, whether public, private or mission.

He explained that before any school is accredited the ministry checks the requirements, including number of teachers, their qualifications and locations, as part of the criteria set to ensure quality education.

The ministry, he added, also ensures that the teachers have the requisite qualifications to instruct in the primary, elementary and high schools respectively.
