KAKATA, Jan 26 (LINA) -The Commissioner of Borlorla Township, James Weetol, has called for the urgent rehabilitation of the Borlola-Gibi Road to enhance free movement in the areas.
Commissioner Weetol said if nothing is done now to rehabilitate it during this dry season, it will become impassable during the next rainy season.
The Liberia News Agency quoting a copy of a summary report of the Governance and Public Institution monthly pillar meeting said the road is in a very deplorable condition and needs to be attended to urgently.
Commissioner Weetol indicated that the road needs urgent attention because it is the main road leading to the “bread basket” of the county, where most of the locally produced food in Margibi originates.
The Kakata–Borlorla-Worhn-Gibi District road is about 26 miles.
Meanwhile, the Resident Public Works Engineer of Margibi County, Sylvester Zoker, has confirmed the deplorable condition of the road.
He said the ministry and county authorities are currently doing a cost assessment for repairs of the road.
