Chief Justice Wants 3Branches Of Govt. Coordinate In Ebola Fight
MONROVIA, October 13 (LINA) -The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Cllr. Francis Kporkor, has called for cooperation and coordination among the three branches of government in the fight to eradicate the Ebola virus
The Chief Justice made the statement in a speech during the opening of the October Term of the Supreme Court of Liberia at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia Monday.
Breaking tradition during the Court’s opening session, where the state of the judiciary is highlighted; Chief Justice Kporkor said he deemed it expedient to concentrate on the virus which, according to him, has placed the country at a critical juncture at this time in history.
“The virus is posing a clear and present danger to our existence, we will not sit and do nothing, but we must consolidate our efforts and work together in order to make the difference,” he noted during the occasion attended by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, House Speaker, Alex Tyler and Senate Pro Tempore, Gbezonghar Findley, among other dignitaries.
“The virus knows no boundary, it does not discriminate, and it is changing our way of life,” he said, adding “the only way we can win is through cooperation with each other or else our efforts in the fight will be meaningless." .... the Chief Justice concluded.
