By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent
ROBERTSPORT, October 12 (LINA)-The local NGO Sustainable Livelihood Promoter Program (SLPP) in Vonzua, Garwula district, Grand Cape Mount
County has trained more than 30 community volunteers to carry out Ebola prevention sensitization in towns and villages in Garwula district.
According to SLPP Project Officer Joseph Benoit, the trainees are expected to reach out to more than sixty eight communities with about 12,000 inhabitants.
Benoit made the disclosure recently in an interview with the Liberia News Agency correspondent in the county in Sinje Town.
He said Ebola can only be eradicated when community dwellers are adequately informed about the danger it poses and educated on how to prevent it.
Benoit said the project is being sponsored by the faith based NGO Finn Church Aid (FCA) based in Finland in Europe.
He said the eradication of the deadly disease from Liberia needs the collective efforts of all, irrespective of political, religious and tribal affiliation.
Benoit urged citizens to cooperate with the trainees so that together they can kick the virus out of Liberia.
