Plan Liberia To Build Homes For Ebola Orphans In Bomi

TUBMANBURG, October 9 (LINA) – Plan Liberia has disclosed plans to construct orphanages in three districts in Bomi County, an official of the charityhas disclosed.

Mr. Alphan Kabba, acting head of the Program Management Unit of Plan Liberia, the homes will be constructed in Senjeh, Klay and Suehn-Mecca districts for children whose parents were victims of the Ebola virus in Bomi County.

 

He did not, however, indicate how much the project will cost, but explained that construction of the homes will be completed within two months.

He said the orphans will initially be taken care of for about six months, after which there is a possibility of extending their stay with donor intervention.

He said Plan Liberia Bomi Unit has already identified 36 Orphans in the county who will be catered for in the homes, and that the decision to build the homes is to protect the orphans.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kabba has pledged Plan Liberia’s commitment to continue to support the County Ebola Task Force and the County Health Team.

He said Plan Liberia as an international non- governmental organization has donors in Europe, Asia and America, among other countries, supporting the organization’s projects in the country.
