Two Clinics Closed In Bomi County
By David Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, October 4 (LINA) – Two clinics in Suehn-Mecca District, Bomi County have been closed after two medical practitioners at the clinics died of Ebola, acting County Health Officer, Dr. Gorbee Logan, has disclosed.
Dr. Logan told the Liberia News Agency Friday that Varney Jones, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) at the Weawolo Clinic and Siryon Brown, a nurse at the Bonjeh Clinic, died of the disease last August.
Logan, who returned early this week from an assessment tour of health facilities in the county, said the deaths of the two health practitioners posed a health risk to employees at those clinics, leading authorities to effect the closure.
He noted that the two clinics will be disinfected to ensure the safety of those working there before they resume operations, adding “we want to make sure the workers do not contract the virus.”
He then advised residents of the District to remain patient as the County Health Team through the Ministry of Health is working to ensure the reopening of the two health facilities as soon as possible.
