DCF Recruiting 4,000 Volunteers For Ebola Awareness
By Robert Dixon

MONROVIA, October 1 (LINA) - The Department of Children and Families (DCF), a local non-governmental organization, is recruiting over 4,000 volunteers to carry out Ebola awareness throughout the country.

According to DCF Executive Director Victor Fayiah, the volunteers will be deployed in all the 15 counties to sensitize citizens about Ebola prevention in
the local dialects to drive home the message to the mass of the people who do not speak English.

He told the Liberia News Agency in Monrovia Tuesday that the group was joining the Ebola fight to buttress government’s ongoing effort to eradicate the virus from the country.

Fayiah noted that prior to the Ebola outbreak, the organization was involved in sanitation and empowerment of less fortunate Liberians through the provision of loans, skills training and award of scholarships.

He said due to the enormity of the situation, the institution is now compelled to suspend its normal operations to join other local and international groups as well the Liberian government to battle the deadly virus.

Mr. Fayiah disclosed that since the outbreak of the virus, DCF has provided anti -Ebola materials to several communities, including West Point, Rally Town, and Sinkor.
